Tested at 2 different rates 130ml and 260ml/m2

The main plates are at 5 days (both middle rows). The implications are that with multiple applications spaced throughout the crop that it would help slow down and delay onset of Verticillium and help to manage and control size of outbreaks.

These tests were carried out independently by Dr Ralph Noble of Microbiotech (full report available on request).

The main plates are after 2 weeks (control was at 4 days old). The implications are that with multiple applications spaced throughout the crop that it would help to keep disease at bay.

These tests were carried out independently by Dr Ralph Noble of Microbiotech (report available on request).

Depending on duration of vessel sailing and temperature, the calcium suspension can settle and temporarily solidify due to weight of liquid above it.

This is a simple system for mixing contents of IBC before decanting.

This can be combined with pump circulation using a simple 1″ or 2″ piping system.

First time; use both pump and drill mixer is better

Subsequent: air agitation or stirring with wooden lath should be sufficient

 

 

Some growers who apply MycroNutrient between flushes and have some large mushrooms left (as above) may see a slight white colouring on the cap edges the following day. To avoid this apply 1/2 L/m2 clean water after the supplement application which is just enough to wash off caps, but not any more as we want to keep the nutrient in the pinning zone for a period to react.

This is not normally an issue with small pins.

Using a simple submersible pump. This model is 10,000L per hour capacity.

Dropped through the neck of the IBC and left for a period does a fantastic job.

Another possibility is a 4″ well pump that will drop straight through.

The best all around way is to have a pump connected to IBC with a ‘recirc’ loop and tap back to top of IBC

and  a ‘T’ off for decanting product when ready. This way the IBC can be left in place while being emptied.

NOTE: Due to circumstances Ralph  was not able to put extra water in for 2^nd flush which is what our customers do to increase and improve 2^nd flushes. Ralph used a slightly different protocol to normal applications in case run and post 1st as some growers want to apply pre 1^st flush and these tests were to prove that could be done without causing bacterial blotch or reducing whiteness which was of course the case.
